Mold and Lyme is Gu/Nüe Syndrome

Take advantage of knowledge gleaned from physicians diagnosing and treating chronic infections for centuries!

In this podcast Dr. Varga, DAOM discusses the diagnosis and treatment of chronic infections of the nervous system such as: Lyme disease, Borrelia burgdorferi, and co-infections such as babesiosis, (piroplasmosis, Texas cattle fever, tick fever), bartonellosis (cat scratch disease, trench fever, Carrion’s disease), ehrlichiosis (tick fever), anaplasmosis, rickettsiosis (rocky mountain spotted fever, certain types of typhus), tick-borne encephalitis (TBE), tularemia (Pahvant Valley plague, rabbit fever); and other chronic nervous system infections most often transmitted by the bites of ticks, mosquitoes, fleas, lice, and spiders.

The patient typically presents as exhausted, yet at the same time anxious and unable to sleep, and at times suffering from palpitations. A key factor in this illness from the lens of eastern medicine is that the weakness of the patient is primary (from such events as over-use of antibiotics, genetics, trauma); and that infection or exposure is secondary. In western medicine this relationship between the person and the infection is known as the “host-pathogen response”. Indeed, Dr. Ritchie Shoemaker, MD saw this in his patients after the devestating algal blooms within the estuaries of the Chesapeake Bay. Some patients recovered after exposure to the dinoflagellate, pfiesteria piscicida (fish killer), will others did not. This phenomena led to decades of research to answer the quesiton, “Why does this patient population have difficulty recovering?”

Dr. Varga, DAOM discusses how to work with Herxheimer reactions and how they are prevented by starting with a low dose of a well balanced formula along with supporting formulas. She also discusses other reactions such as autoimmunity and allergies that are as Dr. Heiner Fruehauf, PhD explains, “mostly, but not always, the sequelae of a deficient and over-challenged immune system that is battling on too many fronts until it reaches the “freak out” stage when the chaos of autoimmune reactions commences. The less healing energy available, the more our body tends to become desperate, overreact, and become uncoordinated in its natural response.” Listen to the podcast here.
